Getting Ready for Scriptus 2023!

Greeting pen friends!

It's been a sweltering summer and we over at Scriptus have been keeping busy!

Philip's directing career has seen him travelling back and forth between Niagara-on-the-Lake. Most of the summer has been spent enjoying tea on his front porch as well as doing a massive amount of prep work on the 4 shows that he has upcoming. He will be working almost solidly in Toronto at the Crow's Theatre, Canadian Stage, Harold Green Jewish Theatre, The Grand Theatre down in London and then back to the Shaw Festival in Niagara.

I, Priscilla,  have been keeping busy reading on the front porch, catching up on my writing (trying to fill every single Hobonichi page), reliving my youth by going to concerts like Duran Duran and Tears for Fears, learning Italian (yes - the dream is to move to Italy one day), and trying to enjoy the last bit of summer.

It's been a while so we wanted to give you a quick update. So many things in the works behind the scenes getting ready for October 29, 2023!

I remember getting such a rush last year as I entered the Bram & Bluma Appel Salon  early (very early!) in the morning  to get ready for the day. It was the first Scriptus show since the pandemic, and as all the exhibitors started coming in and setting up, you could feel the excitement in the room. About ten seconds before the doors opened to the public, we had a count down in preparation for the flood gates to open and seeing all of you come through the double doors. It was such a great rush once the doors opened and finally, after a long hiatus, Scriptus was back! And what a great day it was! As the day came to a close, I remember thinking....only 365 more days until the next Scriptus! And here we are.......

We are really excited for our 8th year at Scriptus and we are happy to share that all the tables are sold out. We are  looking forward to welcoming back some of our long time exhibitors  and a big welcome to our new exhibitors.  As usual, you'll find fountain pens, old and new, stationery, pencils, inks, washi tapes, greeting cards, journals, stamps and of course you'll be surrounded by an active community of like-minded writers and readers. Whether you are new to the world of pens or have been part of the community for years, we can't wait to see you!

We have some special things in the works (maybe some ink...maybe some unique experiences.... maybe some merch....) as well so please stay tuned and follow our social media to stay up to date on all the latest news.

Huge thank you to our 2023 Title Sponsors and Sponsors! You can find find them, plus the 2023 exhibitors on the Scriptus website.

Volunteers needed!

1. We would like to bring back Scriptus t-shirts as they were quite popular and we have had some requests for it! This is a call out for any volunteer (graphic) designers to help us design a Scriptus t-shirt. If you are interested - please reach out to me at scriptusvol@gmail.com

2. Also - if you are interested in volunteering for this years show - please email me (Priscilla) scriptusvol@gmail.com. This show couldn't be as successful as it is without our amazing volunteers dedicating their time whether it's the raffle table, the ink table, or just greeting people when they entered the room!
